What a Mercedes VIN Can and Can't Tell You

Every Mercedes-Benz VIN is 17 characters long and follows the international ISO 3779 standard, but Mercedes encodes specific information in predictable positions. Understanding the structure helps you interpret your result and know what to confirm separately.
